Yay! Google Docs is down!
What's your view on dictatorships in Google Docs groups? As in the original author of the story, and owner of the story and the Google Doc has the right to ban anyone from the group as they see fit. Doesn't matter if they worked with them for years, but if they do add things the original author doesn't like, and argue they won't change or remove it even though the original author wants it removed. Then it gets worse when more than one member disagrees with the original author.
I have been going back over the story, and sadly, much like what happened with my story Her Royal Suitors, the story isn't entirely as I envisioned.
While the story is dark in a lot of ways, the original plan I had for chapter three was a lot darker then what it turned out to be, especially in regards to how Twilight becomes the Princess Consort. I also had more flashback's planned, as well as a bigger battle between The princesses and the elements of harmony.
Google Docs is trying to correct "a lot" to "alot"!
This is an absolute travesty.
Or at least, other options, maybe? I am getting frustrated with google docs simply because I can't find/organize any of my files the way I need. I have so many files, it's not funny. T-T I know it has an organization option(sort of, but not really -.-), but it's... really clunky and inconvenient.
Sorry for not being so active here, been busy with my job and bills. Been using Google Docs on my phone, but let's just say making a fic on a phone isn't exactly easy as ypu, especially since the author of the 50 Shades of Grey did the same thing. I'm trying to get back, I truly am, but let's just say it's hard to make fics when you're distracted by real life.
I've been having fun exploring weird nooks and crannies, and look what I found in https://www.fimfiction.net/chat : an IRC Chat rules guide on Google Docs

This linked blog on looking for editors from WanderD is fucking gold: https://www.fimfiction.net/blog/25435
They're heavily edited and expanded as promised, but unfortunately, I am denied permission to post them to Fimfiction since they're not total rewrites. They're 60-80% different in terms of text, depending on the chapter, but that's not enough according to the mods.
I've been having a problem with Google Docs starting yesterday, and it's worth having a look to see if you are as well, since it seems there are a fair number of people affected. Here's what the symptoms are:

Writing begins at the top of the hour (7 PM Central) and goes until I get too cold to write or until I complete the chapter. I'm not -too- far from done.
There will be more live-writing the rest of this week, involving non-pony projects, although if people come by on Friday and ask for pony stuff they might get it..
*Alternate chapter titles: Respite, Recovery — Didn’t name it either because “Reprieve” sounded better at the time. In hindsight, I prefer Recovery instead.
Okay, folks, we're back with the next installment of this commentary, and for today's topic: Chapter Two(Reprieve)! …Oh boy.
To start I want to reemphasize that every chapter was supposed to be its own self-contained story wherein Gallus would spend time with and learn a life lesson from each of his friends.
Hello, everyone! I promised I would discuss my writing process for The Bonds of Love like I did with A Day for Family and at long last, here we are.
Originally, I intended to post this discussion as an additional chapter to the story itself, so everyone who read T.B.O.L. could immediately read about its writing process after finishing it, rather than having to hunt it down in my Blog.
Because it comes up a lot in the writing-help rooms on Discord, here's how to easily share your writing to get feedback without having to muck about with user-specific permissions.
1. Create a Google Doc that has the writing you want critiqued in it.
2. At the top right of the document's edit screen, click the Share button:
3. Click Advanced:
About to go to bed and I figure I'd give an update. I'm about half ways done with Harry's part in day two and I'm finally getting to some action. If you're not familiar with the Dresden Files, it's action heavy with a lot of magic slinging and fighting with supernatural beings. So far, it's been kind of minimal in the story, but as I've been saying it'll start taking off the second day in. And now it has. So far it's short and I've had to redo it once cause I didn't like how it started out the
Despite Google Docs going down earlier today, I was able to get two chapters done for Act Three. That's right, I said chapters. Unlike the last two times, I'm doing this act by chapters. Since it's the final act, there's not a lot of need to visit each character to tell the same part of the story. The chapters will still be off different character's point-of-views, but it'll be sequenced instead, meaning each character will pick up from the last chapter. I see at least three more chapters
Alright, everyone! I’m finally back with an update on the “Writing of…” situation. Long story short: I intend to provide it in two formats:
1) A Google Doc. Currently, the entire thing rests within a single Doc, and as such, is darn near 1,000 pages long.
And 2) Blog Posts. Every individual chapter’s discussion will be getting its own individual BP, and in the cases where said discussion ran too long to be in one, that particular discussion will be split into multiple BPs.
Alternate titles: Fear, Part One, Life — Didn’t go with the first one because I was still in “Name the chapter after its central theme” mode, and Ch.8(Tension) isn’t exactly about “fear” so much as the lingering awkwardness or dare I say…? Tension between Smolder, Gallus, and Silverstream.
Alternate Title: Identity — I’ll explain why later.
Oh, this chapter… Ch.7(Pride) had the most radically alternate version of all the chapters after Ch.4(Optimism), thanks predominantly to it suffering the most from the personality issue getting axed. I’m not entirely satisfied with what I ultimately settled on, but I still think it’s a good chapter.
Let’s get into it!
~ The Aftermath of Burnout ~
Alternate title: Normalcy — Went with “Normality” since it sounded better at the time. I lean more toward Normalcy presently, but it doesn’t matter since they’re synonyms.
Ah, Ch.5(Normality), you will always stand out for being the only chapter to actually follow the original character-specific chapter plan.
Ahh, Ch.3(Expression). Or as I like to call it: The chapter where I finally figured out what the heck I was doing.
Look, I was writing a story about Gallus receiving therapy for his trauma, his friends’ reactions to learning about his breakdown, and the blossoming romance between him and Silverstream who was going through her own breakdown, all while trying to work themes of identity, personal growth, paranoia, self-worth, family, and the classic “Coming of age” trope into the narrative.
